This is an item that I’ve wanted for a long time now. I first found out about it on The Star Wars Collectors archive several years ago and am extremely happy to finally have it in my collection. This is a Luke Jed figure packaged on an Obi-Wan Kenobi Trilogo card. Some of these miscards are fairly common, but this is the only 2nd one that I’ve seen of this particular one. The one I own now, I believe is the same one, shown the archive that I already mentioned. The other thing that makes this unique, is the fact that it was left packaged in its baggie from the factory and then placed on the card. The only reason I can think of behind this is that it was the easiest way to keep all of Luke’s accessories bundled with him, so they could package them faster.

Enough exist, of some of these miscards, that they were most likely done intentionally at the factory and were not a mistake. It’d be interesting to find out what happened. The logical theory would be they ran out of some cardbacks and just tried to pair them up with similar characters. The other interesting thing behind these is that they all use the same bubble as well. Unfortunately, they are very fragile and most of them do have cracks and bubble damage like mine does. These were also all thought to have been produced from France, so that they are country specific is another thing.

For anyone that would like to learn a bit more on these in general, Joe_o, at trilogo.info has written a great article/gallery of these miscards and also talks about the bubble at the bottom of the Bubble Types & Variations page.

I just realized it had been since I’d posted anything new that I’ve added to the collection. I’ve managed to find a few more pieces that I’ve been wanting for a long time.

First, I found both ESB Red & Yellow versions of the Force Lightsaber, bring my total up to 5 of these toys. I might casually fill up the display box, but the only variation left that I’m actually hunting for is the “transition” version. Which is a ESB saber with a ROTJ sticker on the hilt.

The next items I was able to recently acquire, are the last of the production Droids coins I needed to complete that set. I’ve been putting this off for a few years now and glad to finally have them. The first was Boba Fett, and the 2nd is the alternate C-3PO coin which is the same as the POTF coin, but in gold.

Finally, another coin purchase, was a silver Mungo Baobab coin. This coin was part of the planned 2nd series of Droids figures, that were never produced. The coin is silver, but had the figure actually been released, it would have been gold like the previous two I mentioned.

My good friend, Joe_O, has just started a forum for Trilogo Collectors. He already runs the great site trilogo.info which is a great source for info/insight into the Trilogo line of figures. The new forum can be found at http://forum.trilogo.info/ and serves as a central hub for Trilogo collectors to Buy, Sell, and Trade Trilogos. I highly recommend checking it out.

Here’s two new Luke additions that I was fortunate to add. The first has been on my want list for awhile which is a Australian Toltoys Luke Jedi with blue lightsaber. It features the offer for the Nien Nunb mail in offer and one interesting thing of note is that it still mentioned Revenge of the Jedi on the offer. These were later covered up with a sticker fixing the name change and then ever further on were printed with the correct title.

The next addition is a 65C Blue Saber Luke. The 65C card has the Emperor offer on the lower corner and this is the last U.S. card that you can find the blue saber Luke.

Starting tomorrow at noon MST, is the first Rebelscum Virtual Toy Comic-Con. This is the first time that I’ve seen a concept like this done, but it seems like a fun idea. I originally was going to just participate as a buyer, but earlier this week I picked up a nice group of vintage Star Wars items locally, so now I’m attending as a dealer. Tonight the dealers are setting up their sales and I pretty much have mine all ready.

Anyone that cares to take a look can view it here on the rebelscum forums.

Here’s the flyer advertising the event as well.

This was printed up before the movie’s title was renamed to Return of the Jedi from Revenge of the Jedi. The proof sheet shows the color bars at the top and also has the crop marks for the area that was used for the actual store display. I hope to get this framed up sometime over the next year. This came directly from a former Kenner employee that has had some great items that he saved back in the day.

I’ve added a new link to the menu with pictures of the items that I’ve acquired for my Force Lightsaber focus.

This has been on my want list for my Luke Jedi collection for some time. This was put out by the French distributer, Meccano, and is a Luke Jedi figure on a Yan(Han) Solo cardback. I’ve seen a few of these over the years and most seem to also be packed with the palace blaster accessory while a smaller number are without. I’ve never seen one with the cloak/lightsaber included. I think a miscard like this is fun to break up a run of figures that to the average person look all the same. It’s also fun to see a different language on the text.

The real question is how did this combination happen. There’s enough of them out there, that it was deliberate and not just a one off accident. The majority of these type of miscards show up on Trilogo cards which replaced the Meccano cards later on. Did Meccano get a stock of Luke figures, but didn’t have the cards printed up for them yet? And why no accessories other than the palace blaster? Maybe because of Lukes popularity they were having trouble keeping up with demand and were just trying to get them out as quick as they could? It could also have been later on and they were simply trying to get rid of extra figures on extra cards.

These are silver first shots of some of the Droids and Ewoks coins. Most likely these were tests of the coins before they decided to use anodized gold and bronze blanks for the final coins. I managed to get 4 out of the 6 that were available by the seller. For Droids: C-3PO, R2-D2, Jord Dusat and for Ewoks: King Gorneesh.

Here’s a new item for “The Force” lightsaber focus that arrived today.

This is a press photo that was used in the Seattle Times and is dated June 6th 1983. It was taken at a Toys R Us, the back mentions the child’s name and that he was 5 1/2 the time the photo was taken. He’s roughly a year older than I am. It’s fun to see all the old toys in the photo. You can even see my store display in the lower right.
